No need to let this next generation of computer hardware slip you by. Yeah, I’m thinking about the Kindles, Nooks, iPads and laptops, NetBooks, Androids, Smartphones, iPhones, Blackberries and all that jazz. Why not keep up with the times and everything that’s out there? It’s easy to really get behind, for example if you’re jumping out of the game for a couple of years, it seems like all the technology has leap-frogged us all, I mean next thing you know they’re going to launch the iPad 12 and I guess it’s going to have holographic video conference?Feel free to visit their website at SRS Networks for more details.
Not long ago, I was mentioned by a popular engineering acquaintance; “When I went to the engineering school, I used a slide-rule (how is your ancient history?).” When I began my first company, there were no fax machines, no cell phones, no computers, nothing. You used a typewriter with a correction ribbon plug (new big technology) to fix errors, electric typewriters were perfect for increasing efficiency! Ha ha ha ha. We were trying to determine whether using a calculator in the classroom was “ethical” when I went to school, and the teachers were concerned that this would encourage children not to know the fundamentals of mathematics. I think they were right, judging by how badly my senior year in HS went for children in math.
Now then, I guess I could just sum up my friends pointing very clearly, our computer technology sped past him, after he got out of the game and retired a decade ago, and so like many Americans in his place it seems there’s a bit of catching up to do. And here’s another conclusion of mine to this excellent point of his; first, I think it’s wise to stay up on technology at least because it makes our lives more efficient and productive.
You know, I see a lot of folks in my area right now, most of them are 70s to 90s because of this unique golf group of affluent retirees, out here in Palm Desert CA and now they all use personal tech apps. We bring around iphones, smart phones, Kindles and items of all kinds. They’re busy emailing their kids, shopping online, reading eBooks, reading the news, playing online bridge, and just having a good old time, some of them seem pretty giddy about it.
And that’s the thing here; you know that kind of makes me smile. And, when it makes sense, don’t let computer technology pass you buy, check your choices and maybe pick up some new computer hardware. It’s not too hard to see what’s out there and are you going to be quite happy to discover a whole new world that you see? I think you’re going to like it a lot, and well, I’m just glad you’re curious about it all. And just send an email and let me know what you’re thinking.
